Planning Team Leader

Job Overview

Job Summary:

 

This position is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the network coverage planning engineers and site survey engineers to ensure optimal network geographical coverage and agents’ distribution for all new networks as well as changes to existing designs ensuring optimum coverage and capacity.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for Checking and analyzing the data that we received from the (sales team, surveyor’s team and etc.)
  • Responsible to submit the (daily and monthly ) reports to manager
  • Responsible to submit KPI for the manger
  • Responsible for give training on QGIS program to the new hire
  • Responsible for giving training on QGIS program to the site survey team
  • Responsible for planning and optimizing network geographical coverage.
  • Responsible for planning and optimization of Agent’s distribution.
  • Develop Network Planning Metrics and reporting system ensuring regular reports are sent to Management measuring performance of the network.
  • Complete any job assigned by the manger and finish it in time.

  • Manage network coverage to ensure optimum utilization of the network.
  • Maintain understanding of the technology and business objectives, identify strategies focusing on network capacity and coverage planning.
  • Manage a team of engineers who install, commission and test and accept new network deployment activities on global projects.
  • Monitor network vendor performance and liaise with Network Vendor Team Leads/Project Managers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Act as technical design review and recommendation for detailed designs for network changes.
  • Liaise with and advise VAS Planning, Design and Implementation for any required changes in network for services’ adaptation and business requirements.
  • Exercise full vigilance & control to ensure that project and operational expenses are within the approved budget.
  • Translate the Network strategy into design changes and support the team in implementing these changes across the network.
  • REnsure alignment between different parts of the customer network deployment from design all the way to service delivery. Ensure the best local network is designed, built, and maintained with speed and within cost targets.
  • Ensure all Government regulations are met in the network design and plan.
  • Manage proposals, bids, scope definition, engineering design cycles and design review and approvals for a FTTH network.
  • Take accountability for Project delivery metrics for Network implementation e.g., high vendor resource utilization, delivery timeliness, etc.
  • Responsible Quality specific performance indicators for Networks related to design and implementation phase.

Staff Management/Internal Processes:

  • Recommend to supervisor performance level, Hiring, Firing, and Transfer of staff for the team.
  • Implement and Manage employee shifting schedules, daily activities.
  • Record daily attendance records and ensure company policy is implemented.
  • Implement Health and Safety Rules and ensure policy is implemented.
  • Prepare and submit the daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports as per section guidelines.
  • Coordinate daily schedule of employee assignments and ensure performance meets SLAs.
  • Resolve all employee personnel inquiries, conflicts and grievances.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Computer/Telecommunication/Electrical/Civil Engineering or related.

Years of Experience

4 Years in Network ISP with a minimum of 2 years in related Technology engineering role.

Knowledge

  • Good Command of English and Arabic- Written and Spoken
  • Good command of Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Deep understanding of network design, equipment and infrastructure.
  • ISP experience in Engineering, Network Planning, or Related Fields.
  • Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on IT system utilization
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Experience with fiber network deployments, including experience with Constructing new outside and inside plant fiber infrastructure.
