Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented PMC HR Coordinator (Construction) to support the human resources operations for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The HR Coordinator will handle recruitment, employee relations, administrative tasks, and compliance with local labor laws, ensuring smooth HR processes and contributing to the success of the project. This role requires strong organizational skills, cultural awareness, and experience in HR functions within large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews, preparing job descriptions, and managing candidate records.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring proper documentation, induction, and orientation.
- Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and local labor laws.
- Address employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to resolve grievances and conflicts.
- Manage and monitor employee attendance, leave, and timesheets, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
- Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee salaries and benefits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives tailored to the project’s needs.
- Organize and coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
- Act as a liaison between the HR department and project teams to address HR-related queries and concerns.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, safety regulations, and project-specific requirements in all HR operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on construction or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience working in Iraq or similar regions with an understanding of local labor laws and cultural dynamics is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, policies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for employee and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address HR-related challenges effectively.
