Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced PMC Planning Engineer (Construction) to develop, monitor, and manage project schedules for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Planning Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project timelines are met while identifying risks and optimizing resource utilization. This role requires strong expertise in planning tools, project controls, and experience in large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor construction progress and update schedules to reflect current status, highlighting critical path activities.
- Perform schedule analysis, including critical path method (CPM), resource leveling, and variance analysis, to identify potential delays and propose corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to integrate all project phases into the master schedule.
- Prepare progress reports, schedule updates, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support risk management activities by identifying schedule risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Assist in managing project changes by evaluating the schedule impact of variations, claims, and scope adjustments.
- Ensure contractor schedules are compliant with project requirements and provide feedback for improvements.
- Conduct regular planning and progress meetings with project teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of schedule changes and updates for audit and compliance purposes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in planning and scheduling, with a focus on construction or Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
- Experience in a PMC environment and working in Iraq or similar regions is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in planning and scheduling tools, such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, and critical path analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities for effective teamwork and stakeholder coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
