Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced PMC Project Control Coordinator (Construction) to oversee project controls, including planning, cost management, and progress monitoring, for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Project Control Coordinator will ensure that all project control functions are integrated and aligned with project objectives, timelines, and budgets. This role requires strong analytical skills, expertise in project control tools, and experience in managing large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project control activities, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and progress tracking, to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project control systems and processes to monitor project performance effectively.
  • Collaborate with planning, cost, and construction teams to ensure accurate reporting and data consistency.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and schedules to identify variances and provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports, dashboards, and presentations to project stakeholders, highlighting key performance metrics.
  • Support change management processes by evaluating the cost and schedule impact of variations, claims, and scope adjustments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address project control challenges.
  • Ensure contractors’ project control systems comply with project requirements and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Facilitate regular project control meetings to review performance, discuss challenges, and align on next steps.
  • Maintain detailed records of project control documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8-12 years of experience in project controls, including planning, scheduling, and cost control, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline construction projects.
    • Experience in a PMC environment and working in Iraq or similar regions is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in project control tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost control software.
    • Strong understanding of project control principles, earned value management (EVM), and critical path analysis.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
