Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PMC Survey Supervisor (Construction) to manage and oversee surveying activities for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Survey Supervisor will ensure the accuracy and quality of survey data, coordinate with construction teams, and verify compliance with project specifications and standards. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage all surveying activities, including land, topographic, and construction surveys, to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and validation of survey reports, maps, and drawings.
  • Ensure the accuracy and precision of survey data through quality assurance and control (QA/QC) measures.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure survey data supports project designs and execution.
  • Monitor and guide survey teams in the use of equipment and techniques, ensuring best practices and safety compliance.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and operation of survey equipment, including GPS, total stations, and levels.
  • Resolve technical queries (TQ) related to surveying and provide solutions for on-site challenges.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of survey activities, including records of benchmarks, control points, and progress updates.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify survey activities align with project specifications.
  • Promote adherence to HSE policies and ensure a safe working environment for survey teams.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8-12 years of experience in surveying, with a focus on Oil & Gas or large-scale construction projects.
    • Proven experience supervising survey teams in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in survey equipment and software (e.g., GPS, Total Stations, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
    • Strong knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and international standards.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Strong communication and leadership abilities for effective team and stakeholder coordination.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in challenging environments.
