Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced PMC Telecom Engineer – Construction Supervisor Stations to oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of telecommunications systems for stations in a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Telecom Engineer will ensure all telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optics, communication systems, and networking, meets project specifications, international standards, and safety requirements. This role requires technical expertise, project coordination skills, and experience managing telecommunications systems within large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all telecommunications construction activities for stations, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
  • Review and approve telecom system designs, schematics, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Oversee the installation and integration of telecom systems, including fiber optic networks, wireless communication, and voice/data systems.
  • Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of telecom systems with other station infrastructure.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on telecom systems to verify functionality, quality, and compliance with design specifications.
  • Monitor progress of telecom installations and address technical issues or delays to maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and deployment of telecom materials and equipment.
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure operational readiness of telecom systems.
  • Promote adherence to HSE policies and ensure safe work practices during all telecom construction activities.
  • Prepare progress reports, including updates on telecom installations, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 8-12 years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with a focus on Oil & Gas or infrastructure projects.
    • Proven experience in a PMC environment and telecom system supervision for stations is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of telecom systems, fiber optics, wireless communication, and network integration.
    • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and telecom documentation.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills for effective team and stakeholder coordination.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure high-quality standards in a dynamic environment.
