Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PMC Topographic Survey Supervisor to oversee all topographic surveying activities for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Topographic Survey Supervisor will be responsible for managing survey teams, ensuring accurate and timely data collection, and verifying compliance with project specifications and standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all topographic survey activities, including land, route, and construction surveys, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and validation of survey data, maps, and reports.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering teams, and contractors to ensure survey data supports design and construction needs.
- Monitor and verify the accuracy of fieldwork performed by survey teams and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Provide technical guidance to survey teams, resolving any field-related challenges or discrepancies.
- Conduct quality assurance and control (QA/QC) checks on survey equipment and methods to maintain data integrity.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment and tools.
- Support the preparation of survey deliverables, including drawings, GIS data, and 3D models, as required.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and safety standards during all survey operations.
- Train and mentor survey staff, promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 8-12 years of experience in topographic surveying, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline construction projects.
- Proven experience in supervising survey teams for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in survey equipment and software, such as GPS, Total Stations, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS tools.
- Strong knowledge of topographic surveying principles, techniques, and international standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills for effective team and stakeholder coordination.
- Ability to work in challenging environments and manage multiple tasks effectively.
