JOB TITLE: Principal Engineer – Contracts
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports all activities related to contractual, legal, and commercial issues, specifically related to:
- Contracts with Clients
- Partnering agreements with potential partners
- Exclusivity/tie-up arrangements with vendors/subcontractors, including contractual terms and conditions with key potential vendors/subcontractors
- Risk review process, including identification, mitigation, and management of contractual/legal risks during the pre-qualification and bidding stages, up until the Contract award
Primary Duties
- Support activities related to contract risk identification, mitigation, and management during the pre-qualification and bidding stages.
- Supports activities related to contractual, legal, tax, commercial, and insurance issues concerning company business, client contracts, and partnering agreements during the pre-qualification and bidding stages.
- Responsible for the finalization of qualifications/deviations to the terms and conditions of client contracts.
- Supports due diligence processes for potential partners/clients as required.
- Ensures appropriate guidance regarding legal diligence in new jurisdictions. Supports ensuring that key contract terms and conditions are presented to the Project Management Team upon Contract award and facilitates the proper handover of documentation involved with such Contracts during the bidding stage to the Project Contracts Team.
- Responsible for resolving major deviations from vendors regarding the terms and conditions for the Purchase of Goods and Site Services.
- Manages interactions with Group Legal and external law firms during the prequalification and bidding stages.
- Ensures adherence to HSE and Quality System Procedures during the pre-qualification and bidding stages.
- Supports internal and external audits.
- Assists in developing and monitoring relevant Commercial KPIs.
Job/Cost Impact
- Ensures that the commercial terms of all proposals comply with the Company’s risk management processes.
- Ensures timely submission of contractual inputs for technical/commercial proposals.
- Supports the finalization and conclusion of partnership agreements and client contracts.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- A graduate university degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Experience in tendering, finalization, administration and management of Contracts and in finalization of various Partnership Agreements.
