We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and oversee the procurement process, ensuring the timely sourcing of high-quality goods and services at cost-effective prices. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, excellent negotiation skills, and a commitment to operational efficiency. This role involves building strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring inventory needs, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procurement standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Purchasing
- Identify reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations to ensure the best value for money.
- Order Management:
- Prepare and process purchase orders.
- Track and monitor deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods.
Vendor Relations
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and resolve any disputes or issues.
- Evaluate supplier performance periodically.
- Recordkeeping and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documents.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procurement standards.
Cost Control
- Negotiate contracts to optimize cost savings.
- Monitor budgets related to procurement activities.
- Ensure that all medical and non-medical equipment at remote sites is fully operational and available for use 24/7.
- Compile requests for medications and consumables from the sites and submit them to the procurement team for timely action and fulfillment.
