About the Project:

Kurdistan Save the Children (KSC) is undertaking an 8-month youth capacity building and PVE initiative in collaboration with TGH and funded by GIZ, focusing on Kirkuk governorate centre. The project aims to empower youth in preventing violent extremism and fostering positive social change through community engagement and empowerment. By enhancing civic values, life skills, and professional capabilities among vulnerable youth, the program seeks to deter radicalized behaviours and promote active citizenship. Additionally, it aims to bolster government and civil society organizations (CSOs) to support at-risk youth and foster broader community acceptance of youth as assets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Project Manager will be stationed in Kirkuk, Iraq, with occasional travel to Sulaymaniyah Reporting to the Program Manager and Kirkuk office manager. The Project Manager will ensure high-quality program execution aligned with project plans and donor requirements. Responsibilities include providing technical support, overseeing project implementation, coordinating with stakeholders, and representing KSC in various forums. Some administrative tasks will be handled by the admin personnel, with the Project Manager providing necessary support and coordination.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project needs and develop effective implementation strategies.
  • Monitor and report program activities in coordination with the project team.
  • Provide administrative support for organizing youth trainings, events, and campaigns.
  • Foster coordination with governmental entities and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assess implementation status against work plans and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review and finalize project reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Represent KSC in various forums and meetings.
  • Assist in budget monitoring and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with the Office Manager on budget revisions as necessary.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of similar experience.
  • Previous involvement in youth development and PVE programs in Kirkuk.
  • Strong Project Cycle Management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Arabic, Kurdish.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and relevant software.
  • Collaborative and independent work ethic.
  • Commitment to knowledge sharing and teamwork.
