Brief description of the organization

Al-Mesalla.ORG for Human Resources Development is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization registered with both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi Central Government. Since 2004, Al-Mesalla has been actively operating in Iraq, focusing on civil society empowerment, women’s rights, livelihoods, peace, and justice.

  1. Objective:

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the transformative justice project in Ninewa, ensuring its effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

  1. Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
    • Oversee the execution of project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
    • Coordinate with partner organizations and local authorities to facilitate project implementation and ensure alignment with community needs.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Establish monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track project progress, identify challenges, and measure impact.
    • Conduct regular assessments to ensure project activities are achieving intended outcomes and adjust strategies as needed.
    • Prepare periodic reports detailing project achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Foster strong partnerships with local communities, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders involved in transformative justice efforts.
    • Facilitate dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders to promote ownership and sustainability of project interventions.
    • Represent the organization in relevant coordination meetings, workshops, and forums to share experiences and best practices.

 

  • Capacity Building:
    • Identify training needs among project staff and partners and develop capacity-building initiatives to enhance their skills and knowledge in transformative justice.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to project team members to support their professional development and ensure effective project delivery.

 

  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and challenges to project implementation and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements, to minimize legal and financial risks.
  1. Reporting:

The Project Manager will report to the Program Director or designated supervisor within the humanitarian organization

  1. Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in the field of conflict resolution, peacebuilding, or humanitarian assistance.
  • Strong understanding of transformative justice principles and methodologies, with experience working in conflict-affected or post-conflict settings.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, with excellent organizational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including communities, government officials, and donors.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, both spoken and written and Knowledge of Kurdish an advantage
