Job Title: Project Officer 1
Reporting To: Project Manager 1

Duty Station: Baghdad, Iraq
Duration of Contract: One-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal to an open-ended contract. For internal candidates, this contract may be open-ended based on your existing contract status.

Objective:
The Project Officer (PO) will help organize and conduct project-management activities of the MYMP (Multi-Year Multi-Partner) project. The PO ensures that the ICRC’s Project Management Framework is respected, and that methodology and tools are used correctly, for instance by supporting documentation, planning processes and information management.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Performs and records project controls in accordance with the Project Management Framework and applicable ICRC procedures.
- Assists in preparing documents required by the Project manager other members of the team and Steering Committee and prepares minutes of meeting when necessary.
- Assists in monitoring key performance indicators and provides the necessary reports, ensuring that documentation related to the project is kept up to date.
- Ensure that an overall information management structure is in place for the project and supports filing and archiving, including updating of project shared drive, PAM (Project and Activity Management), and PMT (Planning and Monitoring Tool).
- Supports in tracking the progress of the project and in monitoring the status of deliverables.
- Supports the management and monitoring of project-related activities, under the supervision of the Project Manager and in close coordination with the project team.
- Supports and facilitates the application of the ICRC’s project management methodology.
- Monitors, administers, and reports on financial accounting and budget status, escalating issues when needed.
- Ensures necessary paperwork (MoU, contracts, certificates, etc.) and consolidate all documents necessary to support payments.
- Drafts and finalizes correspondence, bordereaux, internal presentations, meeting minutes and other documents, shares information among users.
- Contributes to procurement processes as required.
CERTIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Project management training and certification desirable.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic (speaking and writing).
- Proficiency in planning, organization, and data management software.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Experience in supporting project management.
- Experience in working with projects, including with governance, steering and project teams.
- Experience in coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience working with different programme and support functions.
- Experience in accounting and monitoring & evaluation an asset.
