A QA/QC technician conducts/performs quality control checks on contract services and processes. A quality technician is responsible for assuring consistent quality by validating processes, performing audits, handling system improvements, and providing documentation. He/she inspects products to assure that they meet defined standards for customer satisfaction or any other metric of the contract.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct internal audits with defined objectives, priorities, and schedules with supervision and guidance from QA/QC supervisor and quality management.
  • Plan, organize, and execute assigned deliverables.
  • Review processes that indicate how contract activities are performed, to ascertain compliance with company and local/Iraqi pertinent policies, procedures, performance work standards and regulatory requirements identifying and communicating process gaps.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry regulations.
  • Possess technical skills and the ability to interpret blueprints, documents, standards, regulations, codes and manuals.
  • Collaborate with project team members to address construction issues and resolve conflicts.
  • Identify deviations and provide clear reports on necessary modifications or improvements.
  • Prepare audit reports and present findings to auditees and management to facilitate continuous process improvement.
  • Assist with certain aspects of the planning and implementing initiatives to support ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 18788:2015, and PSC.1-2022 management systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience required.
  • ISO 9001 and/or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Familiar with ISO 18788 & PSC.1 standards.
  • ASQ Construction/Engineering Certification desired.
  • Knowledgeable about ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards.
  • Certification in OSHA 1926 Standards Training for Construction is a plus.
  • ServSafe Food Protection familiarization preferred.
  • Possess a valid HOR driver’s license.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Inspectors often need to stand for long periods and may lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • The role requires navigating construction sites, which may involve climbing, balancing, and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Inspectors must be able to remain in a stationary position no less than 30% of the time (extended periods of desk work)
  • Good eyesight is essential for detecting defects and ensuring compliance with specifications.

 

Work Conditions:

  • Inspectors work both outdoors and indoors, often in varying extreme weather conditions.
  • The job can involve exposure to safety hazards such as falling objects, heavy machinery, and slippery surfaces. Adherence to safety guidelines and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are crucial.
  • Inspectors frequently interact with construction workers, engineers, and project managers, requiring effective communication skills.
