Job Overview
Job Summary: As a Quality Control Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of products or services produced by the company. Your primary objective is to ensure that they meet or exceed established quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain quality control processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections and testing of products or services at various stages of production to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Document Review: Review and maintain quality control documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and compliance records.
- Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess production processes to identify and address quality issues promptly.
- Data Analysis: Analyze quality data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Use statistical tools and methods to support decision-making.
- Defect Identification: Identify and document defects, deviations, or non-conformities, and initiate corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies related to quality and safety.
- Quality Improvement: Collaborate with relevant departments to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, including process optimization and employee training.
- Quality Reporting: Prepare regular reports on quality metrics, trends, and KPIs for management and stakeholders.
- Supplier Evaluation: Assess the quality of materials or components supplied by vendors and recommend supplier changes or improvements as needed.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues and conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying factors contributing to defects or non-conformities.
- Communication: Communicate quality standards and expectations to employees and suppliers, and provide feedback and guidance to resolve quality-related issues
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/Microbiology and or equivalent.
- Proven 3+ years of experience in Quality Control or a similar role.
- Experience in coding and using QC software tools and processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong GMP, Food Safety Management Systems, QMS, FSSC 22000, and ISO 9001 are essential
- Strong people management and managerial skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation: HACCP, Food safety standards, quality management systems, internal/ external auditing.
- Detailed knowledge of working under ISO 9001, and food safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Strong critical thinking and root cause analysis skills.
- Independent worker who is comfortable with changing day-to-day tasks.
- A strong sense of integrity and the ability to voice concerns as they arise.
