Brief description of the organization

Al-Mesalla.ORG for Human Resources Development is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization registered with both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi Central Government. Since 2004, Al-Mesalla has been actively operating in Iraq, focusing on civil society empowerment, women’s rights, livelihoods, peace, and justice.

BACKGROUND

The Report Writing Expert is responsible for documenting and synthesizing the outcomes of the “Sawt al-Nisaa in Ninewa” project to communicate its impact and challenges effectively to stakeholders and donors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Collection and Synthesis: Collaborate with project teams to collect and synthesize information on project activities and outcomes. Ensure accurate and comprehensive data gathering from various sources.
  • High-Quality Reporting: Develop and maintain high standards for all project reports. Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly reports that analyze project impacts, challenges, and progress. Reports should be clear, well-organized, and provide valuable insights into project dynamics.
  • Monthly Discussion Sessions: Facilitate monthly sessions with project teams and stakeholders to discuss the contents of the reports, gather feedback, and refine future reporting strategies. These sessions are crucial for ensuring stakeholder engagement and for adapting reporting methods to better meet project needs.
  • Development and Dissemination of Analytical Reports: Regularly develop and disseminate analytical reports on the local implementation of the Second NAP 1325 priorities. These reports should provide critical insights and recommendations to improve project interventions.
  • Standardized Reporting Templates: Develop standardized reporting templates for WPS (Women, Peace, and Security) actors to streamline reporting processes and ensure consistency across all communications.
  • Regular Submissions: Ensure timely submission of all reports to WED, COMSEC, and UNDP, summarizing key findings and recommendations. Maintain a schedule that aligns with donor and organizational reporting cycles.
  • Coordination with the HR Department regarding duties and responsibilities assigned to her/him.

Qualifications:

  • education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of professional writing experience, preferably in an NGO setting focusing on development, gender issues, or peacebuilding.
  • Skills: Exceptional writing and editing skills; strong analytical and research abilities; proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
  • Language: Excellent command of English is required for high-quality reporting. Knowledge of Arabic is beneficial for effective communication and data collection within local contexts.
