Reservoir Engineer

Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Geosciences or related field. Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Reservoir Engineering and monitoring. Experience in dynamic simulation (Eclipse, MBal), Geology, Geophysics and Reservoir (2G&R) studies. Good understanding of Oil and Gas process and construction practices. Ability to understand, explain and present complex technical material and to convince internal stakeholders. Must be proactive, good team player, agile, adaptable with the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Excellent communication skills with good knowledge of the English language (Written and Spoken)
Context and Environment:
This PROJECT is an affiliate steering and implementing $10 billion investment in 4-in-1 multi-energy and multi-branch Growth Gas Integrated Project (GGIP) in Basra region of Iraq. GGIP consists of: Common Seawater Supply Project (CSSP) – to treat 5Mbwpd of seawater for water injection to oil fields, Associated Gas Upstream Project (AGUP) and Gas Mid-stream Project (GMP) – to produce 210kbopd at plateau and to supply gas to 1.5GW of power generation capacity, growing to 3GW in 2nd phase, Solar Power Plant (APP) – to supply 1GW solar electricity. Under the direct supervision of the Reservoir Manager this the role will involve; Working with Geoscientists and Drillers on well operations preparation and follow-up, and data acquisition; With Headquarter teams on integration of data in the on-going reservoir model; And with field operation teams in well optimization and production follow-up.
Main accountabilities:
Activities:
- Promote the Company’s Health, Safety, Social, Security (H3SE) and sustainability rules and culture, with a special focus on operations on site
- Participate in the development of monitoring plan/data acquisition necessary to better understand the dynamic behaviors of the reservoirs
- Participate in production performance by contributing to the production follow-up and optimization
- Participate in well operations (including connection, start-up and workovers) by contributing to the identification, prioritization and planning of the operations, as well as preparation of the scope of work
- Participate in well preparation process for drilling by contributing to the preparation and follow up of new wells in order to secure the production plateau
- Update of the production forecast and optimize the reservoir management based on new data acquired during Phase 1
- Ensure the reservoir model is updated based on new data collected during Phase 1
- Occasionally go to field to observe / potentially supervise sampling, production or interventions
- Supervise the data analysis in Iraq or Headquarter (HQ)
- Ensure optimization and savings all along the different phases of the project
- Perform some “spot” dynamic simulation (Using phenomenological models with Eclipse, Depletion with MBA,etc.)
- Participate in reference databases creation and support (T-more, Power BI, etc.)
- Participate in the preparation and presentation for the regular meeting with partners and headquarter
- Participate in the reserve exercise
