Positions available: Secondary Math Teacher

Location: Duhok, Iraqi-Kurdistan
Title: Teacher
Contact days: 189 days, beginning September 1st 2022
Salary: competitive and commensurate with experience

Contract Term: 10 months (September 1st, 2022 to June 30th)

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Works within the policies and regulations of our school and applicable federal law, regulations and guidelines applicable to the education of our students and staff.
2. Makes professional decisions demonstrating support of the mission, vision, goals and best interests of our school and the ministry of education approved documents, including course frameworks and improvement plans.
3. Utilizes all the resources available where necessary to promote the safety and welfare of students.
4. In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities. The requirements listed below represent the skills, physical demands and work environment required.
Skills required: The employee in this position must have the ability to: read, analyze and interpret documents, including correspondence in print or electronic formats, establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the school community, and communicate clearly and concisely in verbal or written form.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk and hear for extended periods of time and operate electronic equipment. Occasionally, carrying, pushing and/or pulling will be required within job standards.
Work Environments: The noise level in the work environment is usually low. However, on occasion, the noise level will be moderate. Work is usually conducted indoors.
Employee Performance Evaluation:
Job performance evaluations/appraisals are completed by the vice principal and the principal. These are based on informal and formal observations, performance at work, abilities in the classroom, attendance, work ethic and completing tasks within a given time frame.

-At least 2 years experience as a full-time teacher.
-BA or a BSc in Maths,
-High proficiency in the English language (Native English or near-native)
-Ability to work successfully in a team
-Have great emotional intelligence/social skills
-Passport: UK, US or Canadian passports are preferred
