Senior Planning Engineer

Job Overview

Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Planning Engineer to strengthen our team in Basra, Iraq on a 6 weeks on /2 weeks off rotation cycle.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scheduling

1. Develop, review, and maintain accurate project schedules and plans.

2. Ensure schedules align with contractual requirements, Wood policies, and industry standards.

3. Utilize Primavera and other scheduling software for logic and CPM analysis, resource loading, and levelling.

Stakeholder Interface

1. Act as a planning focal point for clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

2. Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction functions to maintain project awareness.

Project Control and Reporting

1. Monitor project progress, milestones, and performance.

2. Analyze and issue project plans, schedules, and progress reports.

3. Assess the schedule impact of change notifications.

Risk Management and Compliance

1. Participate in schedule risk analysis.

2. Ensure compliance with project control procedures and standards.

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering

2. Minimum 15+ years of relevant scheduling/planning experience.

3. Advanced knowledge of Primavera, project execution procedures, and project management principles.

4. Strong understanding of cost management, change control, and risk analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.

2. Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).

3. Previous experience working in the Middle East.

Skills:

1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

2. Excellent communication and leadership skills.

3. Ability to work effectively with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams.
