Job Description

Wood is currently looking for Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our team in Basra, Iraq on a 4 weeks on /4 weeks off rotational work.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement reservoir management plans
  • Develop and implement reservoir / well surveillance plans
  • Identify, implement and monitor capacity enhancement opportunities (such as wellwork recommendations)
  • Mentor reservoir engineers developing their reservoir surveillance skillset as well as general critical thinking approach
  • Analyze pressure build up and fall off test using Ecrin Suite application software
  • Perform hydraulic modeling for wellbore analysis using Integrated Production Modeling tool (IPM – Prosper)
  • Implement the reservoir surveillance activities in accordance with established engineering practices.
  • Perform analysis of production performance data:
  • Track trends, patterns, and other characteristics using Oil Field Manager (OFM) tool
  • Share views on the interpretation of data.
  • Prepare recommendations to address performance gaps / business improvement needs.
  • Analyze fluid properties data and recommend the proper procedure for sample analysis
  • Prepare, in conjunction with other Operations Technical / Operations leadership groups, the long-term development and reservoir management programs as part of the annual and longer-term work plans
  • Develop progress reports against agreed Reservoir Engineering work plans, prepares contingency plans and recommend changes to the work program based on findings.
  • Provide relief for group lead as applicable
  • Adhere to professional engineering standards and practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Reservoir Engineering

  • Advanced Petroleum Engineering skills for Reservoir Surveillance
  • Advanced Fluid Properties skills and pressure build-up analysis
  • Formation evaluation and Production Logging skills
  • Analytical skills / problem solving. Highly organized and able to multi task.

  • Advanced English speaking and writing skills
