Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer

Job Description:

The duties Including but not limited to:

  • Oversees and participates disassembles and inspects rotating equipment to determine repair requirements when needed.
  • Completes inspection reports determining scrap, refurbishment or replacement of components when required.
  • Reads and interprets complex engineering blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
  • Ensures that machinery and test equipment is functioning properly.
  • Performs scanning, engineering analysis of the components.
  • Creates engineering drawings for components to be reversed engineered.
  • Designs components for equipment when required with high Engineering knowledge.
  • Creates engineering drawings for newly designed components.
  • Meets quality and specification standards. Administrates quality control system.
  • Ability to validate equipment meets the specification for required service.
  • Uses various precision measurement devices and develop complex measurement procedures if so required.
  • Calculates various mathematical formulas to determine part dimensions and tolerances.
  • Follows safety and environmental rules, company policies and procedures in carrying out duties.
  • Serves as a knowledge resource for less experienced technicians and trains them as and when required by RE Manager.
  • On occasions may require supporting field activities
  • May on occasions be required to travel.
  • Assist with Time management on the system as well as creating Route cards, manage manpower utilization.

  • Reduction in costs/wastage and scrap.
  • Abide by the Heath, Safety, Environment and Quality policy followed by the company at all times.


Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

  • Engineering design and drawing capabilities for Manufacturing and reverse engineering.
  • Familiarity with API standards relevant to the rotating equipment, monitoring the equipment repair/rebuild in strict compliance to these standards.
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis is plus.
  • Major Overhauling experience on Centrifugal pumps, Centrifugal Compressors, Steam Turbines.
  • Experience on Gas Turbines up to and including Frame 9 models is a plus.


Education and/or Experience                                                

Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university

10-15 Years min Experience in the Engineering field.


Language Skills                                             

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills                                                   

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability                                                      

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills                                             

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software; Engineering and Word Processing software.
