SIMOPS Coordinator

Job Overview

Responsibilities

Wood is hiring SIMOPS Coordinator (28/28) role to be based in Basra, Iraq, this would be a secondment role for one of our operating clients.

Mission:

  • To assist RSES during preparation and execution of the SIMOPS .
  • To ensure the coordination and interfaces of the operations
  • To lead and coordinate required coordination/interfaces meeting during SIMOPs preparation and execution phases.
  • To conduct and participate in safety training of project and contractor personnel as required.
  • To Ensure SIMOPS organization and procedures are properly applied.
  • To ensure compliance with HSE rules and regulations by contractors.

Activities:

  • To participate in the preparation of the General SIMOPS dossier and it updating throughout  the execution phase.
  • To Lead meeting, risk assessment in operation, KOM, conducted in the preparation phase and during execution of the SIMOPS.
  • To contribute to SIMOPS scheduling (backward schedule for preparation, and execution schedule).
  • To appropriate preparation of the Permit to Work and their submission to the PTW controller.
  • To ensure Specific Risk Assessment Study is completed.
  • To perform barrier procedures in SIMOPS zones.
  • To define  Construction and Equipment Storage Area
  • To support RSES by calling Readiness Review meeting, defining the list of the attendees and provide them with applicable
  • To coordinate KOM for the different phases.
  • To Perform risk  assessment when SIMOPS activities require critical task, close to operating installations .
  • To perform regular safety-compliance inspections and audits of contractors to ensure implementation of safe working procedures and best practices.
  • To conduct or participate in safety training of project and contractor personnel as required.
  • To assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine their underlying causes, report anomalies and check corrective actions.
  • To coordinate with the other area superintendents and site quality control.
  • To Ensures the coordination of the operations and efficient management of the interfaces.
  • To anticipate as much as possible the problems arising from the co-activities.
  • To attend daily and Weekly meeting devoted to the progress and planning of the activities.

 

Qualifications

  • Professional Experience (years): >10 years in Oil and Gas projects
  • Knowledge of international safety legislation
  • Experience in similar position (years): At least 3 years of experience in similar position during project, relevant site experience in a onshore field
  • Knowledge of relevant techniques and procedures.
  • Languages: English Mandatory.
