Brief Description of the Organization:

Al-Mesalla.ORG for Human Resources Development is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization registered with both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi Central Government. Since 2004, Al-Mesalla has been actively operating in Iraq, focusing on civil society empowerment, women’s rights, livelihoods, peace, and justice.

Future Fields: Empowering Youth Through Sports and Education

Background

The “Future Fields” project is designed to integrate sports into educational programs in Nineveh and Anbar, using physical activity as a tool to enhance children’s self-development, improve educational outcomes, and promote social cohesion. The project encourages active participation in sports, teamwork, and inclusivity within schools while creating a structured environment for students to develop their physical and social skills.

To achieve these goals, Al-Mesalla Organization is recruiting four part-time sports coaches to implement and oversee sports activities across selected schools in Ramadi, Mosul, and Bashiqa. Each coach will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and structured training sessions that cater to different age groups, ensuring equal opportunities for boys and girls. A minimum of 40% female participation is required, reinforcing the project’s commitment to gender inclusion and equal opportunities.

Beyond regular training sessions, coaches will also be responsible for organizing school-level competitions and inter-school matches that encourage teamwork and respect among students. They will work closely with school administrators and teachers to ensure that the activities align with the school curriculum and contribute to the long-term development of students’ physical and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities of the Trainer for Data Collection Teams

  • Conducting Sports Training Sessions: Deliver structured sports sessions twice per month for each school, ensuring they are engaging, inclusive, and adapted to different skill levels.
  • Guarantee that at least 40% of participants in training sessions are girls and create an inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organizing Competitions & School Events: Assist in planning and executing intra-school sports activities, inter-school matches, and community events that reinforce teamwork and fair play.
  • Ensuring Child Protection & Safety: Follow all child safeguarding guidelines, report concerns related to student safety and implement anti-bullying strategies during training sessions.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Submit monthly reports detailing training progress, participation levels, challenges, and success stories, while maintaining attendance records for all sessions.
  • Coaches must strictly adhere to Al-Mesalla’s child protection policies.
  • Any violation of child protection guidelines will result in immediate contract termination.
  • Pre-Contract Training:
  • Selected candidates will be required to attend an orientation session before starting their duties

Supervision & Reporting

  • The Coaches will report to the Project Manager at Al-Mesalla Organization.
  • Monthly reports must be submitted detailing activities, attendance, and challenges encountered.
  • Participation in evaluation meetings, training workshops, and coaching assessments will be required.
  • Coaches must ensure that all activities comply with Al-Mesalla’s policies on child protection.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: University degree or diploma in Physical Education, Sports Science, Coaching, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: At least two years of experience coaching children in schools, sports academies, or community programs, with knowledge of sports event organization.
  • Key Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, ability to motivate children, experience working with diverse communities, and knowledge of child development and coaching methods.
  • Additional Certifications: First aid training and sports coaching certifications from a recognized institution are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in field settings and engage with diverse community members.
  • Proficiency in Arabic (English is an added advantage).
