Lead the seller management organization for the designated geography for FMCG/Small Electronics categories for the B2B marketplace
Define the relevant assortment for the categories (Brands, Products, SKUs, etc.) based on a deep understanding of the retailer sales mix
Identify reliable best price sellers for the targeted assortment and implement a supplier acquisition process to onboard sellers onto the B2B marketplace
Build direct brand relationships with core brands and grow the share of direct brand business in the assortment to improve the marketplace experience for the buyer
Own and improve gross margins for the category by refining selection, unlocking additional revenue streams from brands, and implementing buyer campaigns that grow share of buyer wallet and enrich margin mix
Deliver additional monetization through the launch of value-added-services for brand partners & suppliers
Improve on-site B2B marketplace experience by leveraging analytics & customer feedback and working with marketing to improve seller & buyer NPS
Interface with the demand team, operations, catalog, customer service, and business partner functions to build cross-functional processes that improve operational efficiency
Drive visibility of performance metrics (KPIs) across the organization through regular reviews, identify areas for improvement, and execute special projects to deliver structural improvements
Anticipate customer expectations, changing customer perceptions of online commerce in Iraq, and regularly share insights with the Leadership Teams
An Ideal Candidate Profile for this Role:
A ‘founders’ mindset’, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial approach to solving big customer problems innovatively through people, process, technology, and fast execution of strategic plans
8-10 years of prior experience in Iraq leading sourcing for a major Modern Trade retailer and leading a team of junior merchandisers & pricing specialists for the FMCG/ Electronics category
Experience in launching a new brand in Iraq, entering new geographic markets, and working with B2C /B2B e-commerce start-ups in FMCG in MENA will be a strong advantage
Deep operational understanding of FMCG merchandising, digital marketing, campaign execution, and pricing
Understanding of KPIs for global brands and ‘ways of working to ensure strong brand relationships are contracted with mutual benefit to Amal and Brand/Distributor
Job Requirements
Post Graduate Degree in Marketing or related discipline.
