Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is hiring a Surface Technical Advisory role to oversee their operations IN iRAQ


Leadership/Mentoring Responsibilities

  • Serves as Surface Technical Advisor in support of Production excellence and safety
  • Provides leadership in reducing process safety risks; crude and water injection targets along with crude/water/gas
  • Mentor younger staff on production optimization

Production Optimization

  • Interface and coordinate with multiple departments (Reservoir/Wellwork/Project/operations/maintenance)
  • Identify threats/bottlenecks (near and long term) to production and develop and follow-up on plans to debottleneck
  • Lead daily/weekly/monthly coordination meetings on production excellence. Issue management reports as required
  • Daily troubleshooting and debottlenecking to achieve production and quality targets

Skills / Qualifications


  • Technical Diploma/Apprenticeship or equivalent
  • 25+ years in oil and gas with broad range of experiences
  • Operations – significant hands-on experience. Operations experience shall include crude separation, water treatment and injection
  • Well-work
  • Startup and commissioning experience preferred
  • Experience in Middle east and specifically Iraq preferred
  • Significant Experience with a major oil and gas operator
  • Field Experience with day-to-day operations support in upstream oil and gas with facilities engineering surveillance, process safety, production loss management, debottlenecking, opportunity identifications, MOC support, Opportunity progression, Crude/Water/Gas quality management; critical drawings stewardship
  • Field Troubleshooting knowledge and skills in broad range of areas besides process such as machinery, instrumentation/controls
  • Willingness to spend considerable time in Iraq on-site
