Job Overview

Purpose of the Position

The System Administrator for the Operations Department ensures the reliability and performance of the IT systems that support daily operational activities. The role involves maintaining system efficiency, addressing issues, and enabling smooth communication between the operations team, vendors, and other stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor and maintain IT systems that support daily operations.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and troubleshooting to ensure uptime.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to identify system needs and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Ensure operational tools and systems are functioning effectively to support business goals.
  • Identify and implement system improvements to optimize workflows and increase productivity.
  • Automate routine tasks where possible to improve efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between the operations team, vendors, and clients for system-related issues.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including SLAs, maintenance schedules, and upgrades.
  • Conduct testing to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and provide timely resolutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for operational processes, system configurations, and incidents.
  • Generate reports on system performance, downtime, and maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., IT, Finance, and HR) to ensure systems align with operational needs.
  • Provide training and technical support to operations staff as required.

Skills & Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a System Administrator role, preferably within an operations-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, monitoring tools, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and communicating technical concepts to non-technical staff.
