Trainee piping designer

WoodPLC is looking for Trainee piping designer with below Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet or exceed the company and customer safety standards
• Comply with all company and customer procedures, engineering practices and other applicable standards
• Read and fully understand P&ID’s and other related project documents which describe the Scope of Work
• Perform initial field verification to determine optimum equipment and piping layout, tie-ins to existing facilities
• Conceptualize initial design based on red-lined P&IDs depicting project Scope of Work
• Utilize experience in mechanical equipment, piping and piping components as currently used in chemical and refining manufacturing facilities including; pumps, compressors, exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, towers, pipelines, valves, control valves, filters, piping process codes and use of piping specifications, standards, piping components, materials and industry codes
• Produce detail piping design package based on red-lined P&IDs depicting project Scope of Work, including but not limited to; P&IDs, tie-in location plans, piping plans, sections, demolition drawings and isometrics
• Utilize 3D modeling software and 3D survey scan data to produce package deliverables
• Prepare and maintain; project drawing/deliverables list, including but not limited to; project line list, project tie-in list and bill of materials list
• Provide project progress update to Project Manager, Wood Piping Lead and Wood Site Lead
• Support Wood and Project Manager in maintaining budget, schedule and adherence to the agreed to Scope of Work
• Perform checking of piping design packages and work with responsible designer in assisting to correct any drawings as required
• Maintain cooperative, efficient, and good team working environment
• Communicate, both verbally and in written form in a professional manner

Skills / Qualifications:

• 1year Pipe Drafting, Design & Layout experience working in the chemical and refining manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in AutoDesk AutoCAD 2019 and AutoCAD ReCap 3D Scan Management software
• Proficiency in 3D Modeling software, CadWorx 2019 and later (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft products such as; Word, Excel and Outlook
• Field experience, able to wear required PPE and drive safely to job-site for design verification
