Job Summary:
We are seeking a Trainer for Recreational Activities to design, organize, and lead cultural and educational activities in Domiz1 and Sharia IDP camps. The role will focus on promoting mental well-being, social connection, and community engagement through interactive and inclusive recreational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recreational Activity Planning:
• Develop and implement engaging recreational activities that promote mental well-being and community bonding.
• Ensure activities enhance social connections and cultural exchange.
2. Activity Facilitation:
• Lead and conduct cultural and educational activities, including:
o Storytelling Sessions: Sharing personal and cultural stories to encourage empathy and belonging.
o Cooking Classes: Teaching recipes from different cultures to foster creativity and connection.
o Cultural Festivals & Movie Nights: Organizing events that celebrate diversity and encourage social interaction.
o Sewing Classes: Conducting workshops to teach sewing skills and promote creativity.
o Gardening Projects: Leading community gardening initiatives to encourage collaboration and environmental awareness.
3. Monitoring and Support:
• Ensure participant safety and engagement during activities.
• Collect feedback to improve programs based on community needs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
✅ Experience in community engagement, recreational activities, or cultural programs.
✅ Strong facilitation and leadership skills.
✅ Knowledge of mental well-being and community-building practices.
✅ Ability to work flexibly in humanitarian settings.
🔹 Preferred: Kurdish language skills, prior NGO experience, and familiarity with refugee or IDP communities.
