Job Summary:

The Head of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resource practices and processes within the company. This leadership role involves developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy, enhancing the organization’s human capital, and creating a positive, engaging workplace culture. The Head of HR will serve as a strategic partner to senior management, ensuring compliance with employment laws and promoting a high-performance workforce.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic HR Management:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior management to understand the company’s goals and provide HR solutions to meet those goals.
  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
  1. HR Policies and Procedures:
  • Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with legal requirements.
  • Communicate HR policies to employees and ensure they are understood and followed.
  • Continuously review and update policies to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and best practices.
  1. Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote and model ethical behavior and integrity within the HR team and the broader organization.
  • Drive change management initiatives and support the organization through periods of transformation.
  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Oversee the entire recruitment process, including job posting, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Design and manage comprehensive onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new employees and promote early engagement.
  1. Employee Engagement:
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Organize and oversee employee engagement activities, such as team-building events, recognition programs, and feedback sessions.
  • Monitor employee morale and take proactive steps to address any issues.
  1. Compensation and Benefits:
  • Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain talent.
  • Conduct regular salary reviews and ensure that compensation practices are fair and equitable.
  • Manage payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits.
  1. Performance Management:
  • Design and implement performance appraisal systems that drive high performance.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on performance-related issues.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure that feedback is constructive and aligned with organizational goals.
  1. Employee Relations:
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and retention.
  • Address employee grievances and manage conflict resolution processes effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
  1. Compliance and Legal:
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, including labor standards, equal employment opportunity, and health and safety.
  • Manage employee records and ensure data privacy and confidentiality.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with HR policies and legal requirements.
  1. Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and design employee development programs to enhance skills and career progression.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the organization.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.
  1. Diversity and Inclusion:
  • Promote diversity and inclusion within the organization.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to create an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and respected.
  • Ensure diversity and inclusion principles are integrated into all HR practices and policies.
  1. HR Metrics and Reporting:
  • Monitor HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, employee satisfaction, time-to-fill) to assess the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on HR activities, trends, and outcomes.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and recommendations.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Master degree in HR Or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in managerial or senior HR leadership role, preferably in the Education Sector or International NGO or Companies. Managing HR portfolio for multiple entities is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic and English languages.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and labor laws.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement HR strategies.
  • Experience with HR software and data analytics.


Salary and Benefit Package:

  • Salary: $3000 – $3500 USD per month
  • Communication: Sim-Card, Internet & Monthly Scratch Card for business purpose.
