Job Summary:

The Pastry Chef will be responsible for creating and executing high-quality artisanal pastries and desserts, developing innovative and seasonal offerings, and ensuring consistency across various outlets. This role requires leadership in managing pastry operations, including ingredient sourcing, kitchen workflow optimization, and staff training. The ideal candidate has a creative flair, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high-volume environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute artisanal pastries and desserts for cafés, restaurants, and events.
  • Develop seasonal and innovative pastry offerings that align with the brand’s vision and customer preferences.
  • Ensure the quality, presentation, and taste consistency of all pastry items across multiple locations.
  • Manage inventory, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste, while overseeing ingredient sourcing.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to optimize pastry kitchen operations and maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Train and mentor pastry cooks and kitchen staff on advanced pastry techniques and recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and adhere to health and safety standards in all pastry preparation areas.
  • Innovate new pastry concepts and participate in menu planning.
  • Supervise and ensure time management to meet production deadlines.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field, specializing in pastry.
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role, ideally in a high-volume kitchen or hotel setting.
  • Fluency in Kurdish or Arabic Languages and English Language is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of flavor profiles, ingredient pairings, and pastry-making techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation in pastry-making.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
