Utility Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Utility Technician to join our team at Cedrus Company’s cigarette factory. The Utility Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of various utility systems within the factory, including but not limited to HVAC, boilers, compressors, and water treatment systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, boilers, compressors, and other utility equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
– Conduct inspections and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
– Monitor utility systems and equipment parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates, to detect abnormalities and prevent downtime.
– Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of utility equipment as needed.
– Perform water treatment testing and chemical treatments to maintain the quality of process water and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
– Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels.
– Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in safety training programs.
– Collaborate with other departments, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to support factory operations and achieve production targets.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
– Minimum of 3 years of experience as a utility technician or similar role in an industrial environment, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
– Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing utility equipment.
– Knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, compressors, and water treatment processes.
– Familiarity with electrical systems and basic understanding of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) is desirable.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
– Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
