JOB SUMMARY

The Vector Control Technician is responsible for conducting pest and vector control services at Balad Air Base. This includes applying chemical solutions, powders, or toxic gases, as well as placing traps to eliminate pests that infest rooms, workspaces, and surrounding areas. The Vector Control Technician must maintain effective and timely communication with the Vector Lead and must use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling hazardous materials used by the department. Additionally, the Vector Control Technician is expected to actively support and uphold the company’s vision, mission, and values.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform Integrated Pest Management (IPM) inspection in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
• Treat animals humanely and always handle them with proper personal protection equipment (PPE).
• Keep the work environment clean while complying with rules and regulations.
• Properly wear PPE when working, applying, or being around hazardous materials.
• Understand product usage following the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
• Mix and apply pesticides with proper training.
• Handle animal trappings and keep detailed surveillance records.
• Respond to snake calls and humanely remove them.
• Apply proper methods of treatment that effectively control flying insects.
• Inspecting structures and providing rodent control as appropriate.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Familiarity with the vector control career field is required.
• Ability to understand and comprehend instructions in both written and spoken English is essential.
• Basic reading comprehension and math skills are necessary.
• Responsible for applying various pest control treatments monthly.
• Must be adequately vaccinated to handle feral animals.
• A valid Iraqi driver’s license is required.
• Good communication, teamwork, and customer service skills are important.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS

• Required to work in an austere environment under extremely hot weather conditions.
• Physical requirements for this position may involve using heavy equipment, lifting items up to 35 pounds independently, and team lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Additional physical tasks may include climbing ladders, sitting or standing for extended periods, and performing movements such as stooping, stretching, or bending.
• Candidates should also be able to focus and concentrate for long periods.

مسؤليات الوظيفة

•  إجراء فحص إدارة الآفات المتكاملة (IPM) وفقًا لبيان عمل الأداء (PWS).
•  التعامل مع الحيوانات بإنسانية والتعامل معها دائمًا باستخدام معدات الحماية الشخصية المناسبة (PPE).
•  الحفاظ على بيئة العمل نظيفة مع الالتزام بالقواعد واللوائح.
•  ارتداء معدات الحماية الشخصية بشكل صحيح عند العمل أو التطبيق أو التواجد بالقرب من المواد الخطرة.
•  فهم استخدام المنتج وفقًا لورقة بيانات السلامة (SDS).
•  خلط المبيدات الحشرية وتطبيقها مع التدريب المناسب.
•  التعامل مع مصائد الحيوانات والاحتفاظ بسجلات مراقبة مفصلة.
•  الاستجابة لمكالمات الثعابين وإزالتها بإنسانية.
•  تطبيق طرق العلاج المناسبة التي تتحكم بشكل فعال في الحشرات الطائرة.
• فحص الهياكل وتوفير مكافحة القوارض حسب الاقتضاء.

المؤهلات الوظيفية

•  يجب أن يكون حاصلاً على شهادة الثانوية العامة أو مؤهل معادل.
•  مطلوب معرفة بمجال مهنة مكافحة النواقل.
•  القدرة على فهم واستيعاب التعليمات باللغتين الإنجليزية المكتوبة والمنطوقة أمر ضروري.
•  مهارات القراءة والفهم الأساسية والرياضيات ضرورية.
•  المسؤول عن تطبيق علاجات مكافحة الآفات المختلفة شهريًا.
•  يجب أن يكون ملقحًا بشكل كافٍ للتعامل مع الحيوانات البرية.
•  مطلوب رخصة قيادة عراقية سارية المفعول.
• مهارات التواصل والعمل الجماعي وخدمة العملاء الجيدة مهمة.

المتطلبات البدنية وظروف العمل

•  مطلوب العمل في بيئة قاسية في ظل ظروف جوية شديدة الحرارة.
•  قد تتضمن المتطلبات البدنية لهذا المنصب استخدام معدات ثقيلة، ورفع أشياء يصل وزنها إلى 35 رطلاً بشكل مستقل، ورفع ما يصل إلى 50 رطلاً ضمن فريق.
