Well Work Operations Coordinator

Wood is currently sourcing for a Well Work Operations Coordinator (Local Iraqi National) to strengthen our team in Basra, Iraq on 5 days on 2 days off rotation.

Operations

• Provides day-to-day coordination of activities necessary to assure wellwork/workover programs are carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner and in accordance with the approved work program.
• Must be capable and willing to mentor both local and expat staff to achieve industry/company standards as a minimum.
• Ensures rig/rigless site SSHE plans are implemented and monitored incorporating industry and contractor standard safety requirements.
• Implement the best available technology in well work operations to reduce cost/cycle time and to ensure safe /efficient operational execution to meet the approved work schedule.
• Primary responsibility for ensuring that the necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, and services are available as required with a strong emphasis on contingency planning.
• Cognizant of well integrity considerations in on-going activities.
• Reviews, coordinates and updates well work / workover programs and operating procedures as required with special emphasis on well integrity and well heads.
• Plan well head utilization and forecast of well integrity activities.
• Survey old and new wells to establish a work scope for future well work and interventions.
• Plans well work (rig and rig less) activities on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

SHHE

• Provides safety leadership on and off site.
• Actively involves all of the workforce irrespective of company or position in company SSHE activities.
• Ensures that all staff participate actively in JSA, hazard hunts and daily observation and intervention activities.
• Implements security programs for all personnel and work sites under their direct control.
• Ensures SSHE incidents are effectively managed and reported with a critical focus on the medical attention that is provided to the IP.
• Attends incident investigation exercises as required helping to identify root cause, contributing factors and future mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with company environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Ensures operational risks have been assessed and risk mitigation activities have been appropriately implemented and communicated to rig site personnel as appropriate.
• Ensures the correct up to date documentation pertaining to the planned operations is available both at the work site and with the appropriate contractor(s) as required.

Contractor management

• Oversees strict compliance with company procedures and programs, SIMOPS and SSHE procedures.
• Ensures contractor has appropriate operations and maintenance programs in place and these are implemented for the equipment supplied.
• Ensures contractor has appropriate critical spares and preventative maintenance programs in place to minimize any potential down time.
• Lead contractor audit team member
• Ensure contractors have the appropriate certification in place as per industry and company standards.
• Ensure contractors are aware of and properly handle the hazards associated with their work; and, that their activities are monitored, and feedback is provided to enable improvement through regular written and verbal feedback reviews.
• Ensures significant changes in plans, procedures equipment, or personnel in key positions receive adequate review and approval.
• Maintain documentation of completed job handover forms and ensure all relevant parties are aware of the completion of work.
• Assist with tendering and award management providing technical expertise as required.

• Degree qualified Petroleum Engineer
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience required in workover rig operations (well work) and rig less activities
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills, adaptable and willing to work in a multi-national / cultural environment.
• Flexible enough to work in a demanding strict security environment.
• Self-starter with a strong drive to improve and problem solve
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to the ongoing Client SSHE culture.
• Expertise in risk assessments / SIMOPS / HSE planning
• Written / Spoken English proficiency is mandatory.
• Actively participate in both field and office-based activities to direct multiple ongoing well work and rig less activities.
• Able to critique detailed work programs.
• Strong technical knowledge related to well head and well head integrity.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience required in well work-related activity.
• Demonstrate a committed approach to process improvement, efficiency gains and a reduction in Non-Productive Time.
• Degree Qualified Petroleum Engineer
