The QAQC Team Leader will be responsible for the management and coordination of the Wells QAQC team. The emphasis of this position is to ensure the growing demand for QAQC is met and managers are informed, along with the development of local workforce. This role is integral to our strategy of building and maintaining robust technical and management standards and furthering commitment to advancing Iraq’s technical infrastructure and expertise to an international level of excellence.
The functions to be managed by this position include but are not limited to: QAQC of local machine shops, all premium connections, make up and pressure testing of critical well components, fabrication and other sub-contractor systems and process, failure investigation for the contractor’s equipment, QMS audit for service suppliers, coordination of TPI’s and Support operational requirements where required. Key roles and responsibilities include:
o Lead the QAQC Team by example with a strong commitment to HSSE, efficiency, practicality, and training of skillsets to Iraqi nationals.
o Help develop, implement and maintain the Rumaila minimum standards for all Wells local and international contractors.
o Manage the development of tiered multi-level QAQC check lists and verification tools.
o Ensure contractor delivery to international and contract standards by managing scheduled tiered multi-level field, facility and procedure & data QAQC audits.
o Schedule follow up reviews and tracking of QAQC action items.
o Perform trouble shooting, root cause analysis and incident investigation reports.
o Plan, deliver and assess periodic formal training on specialist subjects and quality control measures to Iraqi staff.
o Assign responsibilities and tasks to expat and national team members dependent on skill sets, experience, and knowledge.
o To liaise and facilitate feedback on QAQC and technical issues with the Wells department and PSCM managers.
o Arrange and facilitate contractor performance improvement meetings as and when required.
o To champion the application of new technology, international standards (API, ISO, IADC) and best practices as appropriate.
o Ensure on-going QAQC audits are tracked, reports are on T drive and actions are closed out.
o Review all QAQC reports and issue to relevant manager.
o Contract account manager (CAM) for local and international TPI contracts. This includes the coordination and management of these TPI contracts.
o Work closely with Integrity and Audit TLs to support the requirements of the Wells organisation.
o Technical focal point for OCTG, tubing refurbishment and local API machine shop contracts. Technical input to wellhead contracts.
o Coordinate and liaise with TPI teams (both local and international).
o Lead preparation and technical evaluation of QAQC criteria for Wells tenders. Provide support to PSCM/discipline engineers for preparation, execution and management of tenders and contracts.
o Provide additional technical input and support to various wells teams when required.

Criteria & Qualifications
o Proven record of strong execution and delivery in a similar role.
o A minimum of 15yrs oil industry experience in different roles, including minimum 5yrs in supervisor or management position. Experience working within Wells teams would be considered beneficial.
o Strong knowledge of QAQC and management systems.
o Strong knowledge of API standards.
o Familiar with surface wellhead systems. Strong knowledge preferred.
o IRCA lead auditor qualification.
o Excellent interpersonal skills. Fluent in English language with strong communication skills is essential.
o Educated to at least first degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering, Geological or related disciplines.
o Maintains a high standard of business integrity, professional behaviour and confidentiality.
o Experience of working in Middle East land based environments is preferred.
o A flexible approach to work is essential.
