Context
The Souq al Shoyukh Community and Climate Hub (SSCH)”project is dedicated to fostering a community-led space in the Souq Al Shoyukh district. This initiative seeks to unite residents, businesses, local authorities, universities, NGOs, places of worship, and schools to bolster the economic diversification of the city and implement a climate action plan. This plan aims to secure the future of the town and its community while addressing Iraq’s climate crisis.
• Co-Working Space for Youth: one of the main objectives of the project is to establish a co-working space for youth in order to provide trainings and mentorship to enhance their skills, prepare them for the job market, as well as support entrepreneurs in scaling-up their entrepreurial enterprises.
• Capacity Building: The project is focused on empowering the local community to become agents of change. This includes taking responsibility for managing and scaling up this local solution, ensuring sustainability and long-term impact.
• Climate Action: The hub is dedicated to facilitating community-led climate action within the neighborhood by initiating climate action activities and supporting the scaling-up of local solutions that aim to empower the local community to take climate action.
Hence, the team now established four distinct intiatives within SSCH aimed at fostering community development and engagement. Specifically:
– Established four different intiatives, each initiative has a detailed challenges and solution canvas and
– Established four working groups, a working group for each initiative.
– And established four draft work plans, a workplan for each initiative.
To ensure the success of these initiatives, we are seeking an online volunteer to assist with structuring the workplan and facilitating bi-weekly meetings to track progress and address any challenges.

Task description
We are seeking four dedicated Online Volunteers (free of charge) to support the SSCH teams by organizing and maintaining a comprehensive workplan for four distinct initiatives and ensuring regular follow-up on progress through bi-weekly meetings. Each volunteer will be responsible for a specific initiative and will undertake the following tasks:
Key tasks
1. Workplan Structuring:
o Collaborate with initiative leads to gather the necessary information for the workplan.
o Enhance the draft workplan by outlining tasks, timelines, milestones, and responsible parties for each initiative.
o Regularly update the workplan based on inputs from initiative leads and changes in project dynamics.
o Track the progress of the workplans to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
2. Bi-Weekly Follow-Up Meetings:
o Schedule and organize bi-weekly meetings with initiative leads to discuss progress and address any issues.
o Prepare detailed agendas for each meeting, focusing on progress updates, challenges, and next steps.
o Facilitate the meetings, ensuring productive discussions and timely resolution of any issues.
o Document meeting minutes and action items and follow up on their implementation to ensure accountability and progress.
Required experience
Required education level and # years of experience: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field with minimum of one year of professional experience and a volunteer and social activity experience.
Skills and required experience
The required skills and experience for the Online Volunteers are:
1- Organizational and time management skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
2- Communication Skills: Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with the project team and other online volunteers. Ability to understand and incorporate feedback into the mapping process.
3- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel: Strong skills in Microsoft Word for document creation and formatting and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization, analysis, and creating complex spreadsheets.
4- Experience with Online Collaboration: Familiarity with online collaboration tools and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
5- Follow-Up Skills: Excellent follow-up skills to ensure timely completion of tasks and resolution of issues.
6- Stakeholder Mapping: Experience in stakeholder mapping and analysis. Ability to translate provided stakeholder information into comprehensive and accurate maps using Kumu.io.
7- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret and draw insights from system maps. Ability to generate actionable knowledge and recommendations based on the analysis.
8- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of the system maps and stakeholder analyses.
9- Commitment and Reliability: Demonstrated commitment to volunteering and the ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
