Job Overview
As a Workshop Controller oversees the daily operations of the service workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, quality repairs, and exceptional customer service, manages a team of technicians, assigns work orders, and coordinates with service advisors and the parts department to optimize workshop performance.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of technicians in the service workshop, assigning work orders, and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
- Review service schedules and workloads, adjusting staffing levels and assignments as needed to meet customer demand and optimize workshop efficiency.
- Monitor technician productivity and performance, providing guidance, training, and support to improve efficiency and quality of work.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer service standards, warranty guidelines, and safety regulations in all workshop operations.
- Liaise with service advisors to communicate repair status, estimated completion times, and any additional work required to customers.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of required parts and materials for service appointments, minimizing downtime and delays.
- Conduct quality inspections of completed work to ensure repairs meet or exceed customer expectations and dealership standards.
- Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, including work orders, technician timecards, and service reports, utilizing dealership management software.
- Resolve any customer complaints or issues related to workshop operations, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution.
- Assist with the recruitment, training, and development of workshop staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering degree or related field, or certification in automotive technology is preferred. Strong Knowledge of automotive products. Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in automotive repair or workshop management is expected. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent in Arabic, and English languages is mandatory.
