Youth Leaders

General Description: The Youth Leaders will be playing leading role for a Peace Building /Social Cohesion Project in Baquba and Muqdadiya, which is funded by Danish Refugee Council. The project will facilitate communities of both sub-districts to join hands to enhance cohesion and pave a path for peace co-existence. Male and Female Youths will play leading role in approaching and ensuring participation of communities in project activities of their respective areas. 20 Youth Leaders (10 Male, 10 Female) will be selected from both sub-districts. These Youth Leaders, with the technical support from MLO Staff Members will act as focal person to enhance participation of vulnerable and marginalized groups/members and lead development of community activities as well.

Job Summary: The Youth Leaders will be responsible for Assisting Project Manager in leading and facilitating social cohesion and peace-building activities in their respective communities. They will work in collaboration with other project staff and stakeholders to create an inclusive and peaceful environment, build trust among community members, and foster positive relationships across cultural, religious, and ethnic divides.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead community engagement and mobilization efforts to promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence
• Identify and engage with key stakeholders and community leaders to build partnerships and support for project activities
• Plan and implement a variety of activities to promote inter-community dialogue, build trust, and foster positive relationships
• Organize and facilitate Community dialogues and community events on topics related to conflict resolution, peace building and diversity
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with community members, partners, and stakeholders
• Assist in collecting and reporting data on project activities and progress towards goals
• Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to social cohesion and peacebuilding

تطوير والحفاظ على علاقات إيجابية مع أعضاء المجتمع والشركاء وأصحاب المصلحة
المساعدة في جمع البيانات والإبلاغ عنها حول أنشطة المشروع والتقدم المحرز نحو الأهداف
المشاركة في اجتماعات ودورات تدريبية منتظمة لتعزيز المهارات والمعرفة المتعلقة بالتماسك الاجتماعي وبناء السلام
