Description

We are inviting prospective candidates to apply for our Deputy Camp Manager for our Baghdad HQ, Carman Business Centre (CBC). The role will work on a rotational basis of nine weeks on in country and three weeks off.

Responsible for all life support function supporting specific contract employees within CBC.

  • Deputise for CBC Camp Manager delivering overall management of CBC facilities and delivery of life support to clients and colleagues.
  • Provide client meet and greet capability and remain client point of contact 24/7 for all CBC functions (accommodation, welfare, feeding, security, laundry etc). Be the Front of House (FOH) of Control Risks at CBC and maintain the service standards our clients expect.
  • Maintain accommodation tracker in close collaboration with operations and commercial departments to maximise CBC availability.
  • Maintain CBC real estate within budget and to expected standards.
  • Manage life support provider across all functional areas for delivery within CBC and against key performance indicators

 

Tasks and responsibilities

Departmental Responsibilities

  • Provide a focal point for all colleagues accommodated within CBC for life support matters and welfare facilities.
  • Provide client meet and greet and remain focal point of contact for duration of occupation to include;
    • Initial meet and provide orientation brief.
    • Arrange initial security briefs from Baghdad security manager.
    • Remain point of contact for all clients 24/7 for any enquiries relating to the tenancy at CBC.
    • Provide mechanism for client to provide live feedback and improve the CBC experience.
  • Deputise for CBC camp manager in management and responsibility for delivery of life support by the provider in accordance with contracted terms, to include-
    • Camp daily morning walkarounds and general checks.
    • Daily maintenance, housekeepers, cleaners staff morning brief to priorities tasks as required.
    • Daily/Weekly/Monthly consolidate inventory requests for maintenance parts, equipment, and fixtures for confirmation with regional Logistics team.
    • Maintain accurate daily/weekly/monthly camp checks, this includes Smoke alarms tests, Electrical tests, and plumbing tests.
    • Monitoring the dining and food performance and quality. Provide feedback mechanism for continual improvement.
    • Monitoring the laundry service performance and quality. Provide feedback mechanism for continual improvement.
    • Monitoring the cleaning and housekeeping performance and quality. Provide feedback mechanism for continual improvement.
    • Maintaining accurate feeding strength in coordination with the life support company and commercial department.
    • Final check for all daily client room arrivals. Client rooms will be cleaned and prepared by the housekeepers, checked by the supervisor, then final checked by the camp manager prior to client arrival.
    • Maintain accurate camp maintenance tracker.
  • Maintenance and general upkeep of all CBC functional areas in collaboration with life support provider and regional Logistics team. This will require routine daily checks and records of such checks to enable data interpretation and continual improvement.
  • Maintain live accommodation tracker system available for interrogation by Operations and Commercial department to maximise CBC occupancy.
  • Assist regional logistics team in maintaining CBC material accountancy specifically relating to CBC functional areas accommodation, dining, gym, offices, recreational areas.
  • Assist regional logistics team with management and implementation of subcontractor functions relating to CBC to include, but not limited to water supply, waste disposal and delivery of life support provider material
  • Strict adherence to Control Risks QHSE policy across CBC and maintain collaboration with Control Risks QHSE department to monitor and evolve policy specifically relating to CBC operation. Ensure that life support provider are also aware and in adherence to Control Risks QHSE policy and wider industry standards.
  • Maintain an understanding of the wider Control Risks activity and be prepared to undertake reasonable tasks outside CBC camp management.
  • Strict adherence to Control Risks QHSE policy across CBC and maintain collaboration with Control Risks QHSE department to monitor and evolve policy specifically relating to CBC operation. Ensure that life support provider are also aware and in adherence to Control Risks QHSE policy and wider industry standards.
  • Maintain an understanding of the wider Control Risks activity and be prepared to undertake reasonable tasks outside CBC camp management

Personnel Management

  • Management of life support provider and adherence to KPI’s and training requirements
  • Maintain strong working relationships across all Control Risks management in delivery of CBC experience.

Quality Management

  • Delivery of CBC functionality in accordance with policy, procedure and QMS requirements
  • Management of all CBC activities in accordance with local (GoI and MoI) and international laws
  • Programmed audit of life support provider and assistance to regional logistics team in undertaking material audit
  • Delivery of contractually compliant client services and equipment

Requirements

Essential

  • Operational experience of high tempo camp management to include client liaison, maintenance, and service delivery.
  • Management of sub-contractors in delivery of camp life support
  • Personnel management and complexity of sub-contractor personnel
  • Facilities preventative maintenance program delivery

Preferable

  • Commercial facilities management experience (hostile environment)
  • Demonstrable logistics management experience

 

Qualifications and specialist skills

  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Equipment accounting systems – Electronic/Manual
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to verbally communicate in Arabic.
  • Effective communicator
  • Cultural awareness
