Position Summary:

  • The Mechanical Technician will be responsible to the HKN Mechanical Technician for the safe, efficient & cost-effective operation of HKN site in Kurdistan region of Iraq. They will train to perform preventive and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely and effectively on mechanical and instrumentation systems.
  • Remote site and camp-based position requiring the candidate to work equal time shift rotation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Site focal point for all Mechanical equipment.
  • Perform isolations/de-isolations as required and perform preventative and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely and effectively on plant including rotating equipment.
  • Perform personal isolations/de-isolations as required and perform preventative and restorative maintenance duties and tasks safely and effectively.
  • Act as Performing Authority in the PTW system.
  • Ensuring safe and efficient operation, Maximising the reliability and uptime of Diesel Driven Power Generation Plant, Process and Loading Pumps.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying faults to maximise equipment availability, identify spares requirement and stock control.
  • Monitoring and controlling works by vendors/contractors within his/her remit.
  • Update and maintain the maintenance management system.
  • Raise work permits and preparing work-packs, as appropriate to progress work, also for vendors and contractors.
  • Compile Proof of work and competency portfolio.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicates must be self-motivated and proactive plus be able to demonstrate their ability to work within a small operations team structure.
  • Candidates ideally have previous experience in a Mechanical role with exposure to all aspects of maintenance in oil and gas processes.
  • Mechanical university degree beneficial
  • Candidates must be proficient in English language both verbal and written.
  • Be computer literate, and able to use MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be fit and Healthy and have an up-date Yellow Card with Doctors certificates.
  • Must have the physical abilities to carry out the functions of the job description in an irregular shift pattern.
