RESPONSIBILITIES

Wood is looking to fill Process and Controls Coach (PACO Coach) X 2 to be based in Basra-Iraq, who shall be responsible for  providing technical leadership and support on all elements of Instruments and Controls maintenance at the client site.

Position Summary:

  • The Process and Controls Coach shall provide guidance and support on the operational control of the client plant to configure DCS/ PLC systems to optimize the production process.
  • They will work from Operational Performance Standards and reliability studies to develop and continuously review/ improve a fit for purpose maintenance program that supports the Asset business requirements.
  • The position shall be office and field based providing technical expertise and oversight to ensure Industry Best Practices are adopted in line with the agreed implemented maintenance program.

Deliverables & Requirements:

  • Actively promote and manage HSE requirements and goals.
  • Provide “on the job” coordination with highest regard for safety, schedule and commercial impacts with any deviation reported back through the company processes and procedures
  • Understanding of DCS/ PLC systems and the control of plant processes through automation
  • Ensuring capability of Iraqi personnel by providing technical support for PACO/ Instruments discipline (process, rotating equipment controls, PLC, fire and gas, etc.)
  • ware of Ex Equipment (ATEX) Maintenance requirements for all Field Instrumentation.
  • Monitor contractor execution, ensuring activities are carried out in accordance with company and industry standards and specifications at all times.
  • Ensure installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with client procedures and industry codes & standards excelling in terms or “good oilfield practice”.
  • Manage quality standards, and implement and roll out quality control measures for management of Instruments and Controls equipment maintenance..
  • Develop, review, and improve maintenance execution techniques for Instruments and Controls equipment
  • Verify that execution of works complies with the Engineering Strategy requirements
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring for the development of existing Client personnel

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree qualified/ HND/ HNC or equivalent.
  • Must have minimum 10 years’ experience of maintenance roles within Oil & Gas
  • Good understanding of instrumentation, control, tuning, overrides, safeguarding equipment, system networking
  • Understanding of Process Control Domain (PCD Security) will be an advantage
  • Good understanding in preventive maintenance of control systems
  • Good understanding in Management of Change process
  • Ability to prepare work procedures with available resources
  • Proven history of working in an international multi-cultural team environment
  • Flexible approach and able to adapt processes to operational context
  • Proven leadership and organisational skills and strong personal drive to meet deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills with good technical communication skills
  • Proven track record of developing local national staff as coach/ mentor
  • Experience in working in harsh geographical and /or technical environments (e.g. temperature extremes, sour gas operations) would be beneficial
