Position: Senior Procurement Manager – Construction

Duties and responsibilities:

1- Strategic Procurement Planning:

– Developing and implementing procurement strategies specific to construction projects, considering factors such as project timelines, budget constraints, and material requirements.

– Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to align procurement activities with project objectives.

2- Supplier Identification and Selection:

– Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers of construction materials, equipment, and services based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

3- Contract Negotiation and Management:

– Negotiating contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

– Ensuring that contracts are in compliance with legal and regulatory standards and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance and delivery.

4- Material and Equipment Procurement:

– Coordinating the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project schedules.

– Monitoring inventory levels and manage procurement processes to minimize delays and cost overruns.

5- Cost Control and Budget Management:

– Developing and managing procurement budgets for construction projects, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings and optimization.

– Working closely with finance and project management teams to ensure that procurement activities are aligned with project budgets and financial objectives.

6- Quality Assurance and Compliance:

– Ensuring that construction materials and equipment meet quality standards and comply with project specifications, industry regulations, and safety requirements.

– Implementing quality assurance processes and conduct supplier audits to assess compliance and mitigate risks.

7- Supplier Relationship Management:

– Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering collaboration and resolving issues proactively.

– Evaluating supplier performance and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement and optimize supplier relationships.

8- Project Coordination and Collaboration:

– Collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to coordinate procurement activities and ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements.

– Communicating effectively across teams to address procurement-related challenges and facilitate project success.

9- performing any other related duties as assigned by manager line.

Required qualifications and skills:

– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Procurement Professional, Certified Purchasing Manager) is preferred.
– At least 10 years of experience in the related field is required.
– ⁠Arabic and English languages are required and Turkish language is a plus.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
– Procurement Knowledge: In-depth understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations. Familiarity with procurement processes, tools, and systems (e.g., e-procurement platforms, ERP systems) is advantageous
– Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards, with experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships in the construction sector.

Working Condition & Benefits:

– Working days & hours: 6 Days /Week. 8 Hours / Day, with flexibility
– ⁠Salary: IQD 3,000,000 to IQD 4,500,000 based on experience level.
– ⁠Lunch: Available.
