PURPOSE OF DIVISION:

Islamic Relief’s (IR) has been working in Iraq for more than 16 years. IR was on the ground throughout the military incursions and is one of the few aid agencies that continued working during and after the 2003 war.
Islamic Relief Worldwide Iraq is implementing several projects in the sector of Food, WASH, Health, Education, GBV, and shelters.
JOB PURPOSE:
The social mobilizer will assist Project officer with the development and implementation of the project activities, including project plans, policies and solutions and contributes to issue resolution and escalation, research, analysis activities and planning and monitoring activities in Diyala governorates.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The Social mobilizers will spend their time working in Thi Qar Governorate.
- The Social Mobilizers will be responsible to mobilize and organize communities, conducting meetings with community leaders, right holders identification, training arrangements, assisting project officers in the implementation of project activities, distribution of business kits and regularly monitoring field activities.
- Conduct regular visits to the field for project activities implementation and conduct regular follow-ups with the project beneficiaries’ activities.
- Support the MEAL department on conduct baseline & endline surveys.
- Prepare reports on weekly, monthly basis.
- Perform assigned related task by the project management.
- Traveling to Erbil main office to attend the required workshops, trainings and other events.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- A) EDUCATION/TRAINING
Required:
- Minimum of Diploma Degree in agriculture, Development studies or related field.
- B) EXPERIENCE
- 2–3 years’ experience in the field of agriculture or livelihoods working with INGOs/NGOs.
- Previous experience working in the same field is an advantage.
Required:
Professional Qualifications.
- Extensive experience in working for NGO or INGOs on Development fields with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated capacities to establish and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with government officials, local organizations, communities and other stakeholders.
- English & Arabic language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing).
- Good writing and reporting skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Power point).
