Action Against Hunger is looking for a Cashier Intern to work in its Coordination office in Erbil.

 Work place: Based in Erbil, Iraq with frequent travel across field sites over all Iraq

Type of contract:  Initially 3 Months with the possibility of changing the contract type into a fixed term employment contract

Working Hours: Full Time Contract of minimum 40 hours per week up to a maximum of 48 hours per week

 

The purpose of the position:  check and pay approved payment, book payment in the accounting, convert and transfer funds.

Responsabilities

Responsibility 1: prepare payment voucher

-check purchase approval and release required funds

-receive and check the eligibility of invoices submitted for payment (compliance with purchase voucher, required information)-prepare the payment voucher, review the supporting document, reject payments requests without proper supporting documents

-submit complete and reviewed payment voucher with ball relevant supporting docs to authorized signatory

-translate receipts and invoices when relevant

-reject requests for payment when basic supporting documents are not present

Responsibility 2: Process payments, transfers, conversions, advances

-Payment: make payments for all items and services which have been approved via cash, cheque or bank transfer

-Money Exchange Dealing: whenever needed, convert currency and register it in cashbook;

-Money Transfer Dealing: registration and exchange of voucher reference between Country Office and area.

-transfer funds to bases based on approved internal transfer vouchers and approved fund request

-give advance based on ACF policy and relevant approvals

Responsibility 3: review and archive payment voucher

-make sure to number the vouchers when registering them in SAGA

-ensure that all transactions in SAGA are supported by a physical voucher in the archive and that all physical vouchers are properly booked in SAGA

-report to line manager when and where supporting documents are missing

Responsibility 4: book all transactions in the accounting

-book daily cash payment in an excel file with the balance to keep track of payments done, dates, and check the balance weekly

-book transactions in SAGA at least on weekly basis following ACF IQ standards descriptions and instructions from country chief accountant

Responsibility 5: Cash and bank reconciliation

-The cashier should check that his/her cash balance in the safe and in his accounting are matching on a weekly basis

-The cashier must make a formal cash reconciliation on a monthly basis between safe and saga

Recruitment Criteria:

Qualification/Degree Bachelor degree in accountancy or equivalent relevant experience in a similar position

 

Professional Experience
Technical/Specialized Skills Administration including archiving, accountancy, cash management and audit preparation.
General Skills

 

Good computer skills – Professionalism – Good level in English, Kurdish and Arabic

Attention to detail and organizational skill

Language Skills Spoken and written English is mandatory

Spoken and written Arabic is mandatory

Spoken and written Kurdish is mandatory

 

IT Skills Very Good knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, outlook) especially Excel  and Finance ‘s Software
