Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced General Accountant to join our team in Erbil. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, account reconciliation, budget management, payroll processing, and tax compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Reconciliation
- Prepare financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports).
- Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, balance sheets, and fixed assets.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Manage vendor relationships, resolve payment discrepancies, and maintain accurate AP/AR records.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices, follow up on collections, and manage outstanding payments.
Payroll & Tax Compliance
- Process monthly payroll and ensure compliance with tax and labor laws.
- Calculate and file Personal Income Tax (PIT) and Social Security contributions.
- Ensure all tax payments and reports are submitted on time.
Internal Controls & Audit Preparation
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Assist in preparing for financial audits by providing documentation and support.
Inventory & Fixed Asset Management
- Track company assets and ensure proper depreciation calculations.
- Reconcile inventory records and collaborate with the inventory team for accurate reporting.
Other Duties
- Provide after-hours customer support as needed.
- Assist in budget preparation and cost control analysis.
- Utilize accounting software and ERP systems for accurate financial management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting (preferably in renewable energy or a related industry).
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic, and English (written and spoken).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
