IT Senior Server Operation Engineer

Wood is currently looking for IT Senior Server Operation Engineer to support our team in Iraq/Basra rotational 5×5

• Lead the Solution Centre and End-User Support function
• Lead all aspects of the L1/L2 desktop and server support team functions (covers servers, storage, desktops, laptops, peripherals, printers, phones) including
• Lead and conduct physical implementation of new server and data storage type devices
• Install OS base-build ready for SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) layering of core applications
• Recommend and implement changes to existing hardware and OS (Windows & Linux) infrastructure including patches, users, filesystems, and kernel parameters
• Working with Product and other departments to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Take lead and conduct administration, management, optimization and evolution of Microsoft 365 and on-prem Microsoft application portfolio
• Perform daily end user engagement, incident management and service request fulfillment on Microsoft 365 and on-prem Microsoft applications
• Install and manage server certificates
• Decommissioning and physical removal of EOL (End of Life) devices
• Identity management – creation of IDs, email accounts, drive mappings, and all other account administration activities such as ID suspensions/deletions
• Collaborate with IT Equipment Management team to conduct Asset verifications of server and storage types
• Assist and execute EOL hardware activities
• Provide technical advisory for Security & Controls (S&C)
• Development of overall infrastructure deployment and support strategy framework
• Ensure adequate level of engagement and support from business and IT service providers in all applications implementation initiatives
• Responsible for the design and development of the IT Server Operations and Area Operations team organization, support model, job portfolios, security and control processes and system management processes
• Ensure availability and reliability of supported infrastructure within service level objectives
• Coordinate with business on identification of initial business requirements and scope definition for any new opportunity
• Coordinate development of procurement plans and ensure appropriate business justification and approvals are obtained
• Develop annual budget for IT Infrastructure initiatives and base support as part of planning and budget process
• Provide oversight and guidance to Project Managers and Leads in infrastructure project implementations
• Provide on-site coordination on management interfaces/approval during project execution
• Support the IT Server Ops supervisor with the planning and execution of infrastructure-related work programs
• Support IT Server Ops supervisor to manage MSP resources on the service towers of server ops and cloud service
• Knowledge & experience of supporting server and desktop infrastructure in an Oil & Gas upstream

• 3+ years’ experience administrating Windows Server, Linux, and Azure Environments
• Solid experiences and demonstrated skills in implementation and administration following hardware / software solutions; Hyper-V and VMware Server Virtualization
• X86 servers
• Enteprise level data storage
• Backup software: NetBackup, Commvault or VEEAM
• Solid knowledge and proven skills in enterprise data storage system
• Proficient and up-to-date knowledge in administrating and supporting Windows Server and Windows desktop Operating Systems
• Linux server operation systems including CentOS, Ubuntu, SLES, and RHEL, etc.
• Skilled in automating processes using PowerShell and Bash scripting
• Strong knowledge and hand-on experiences in Microsoft 365 and Office 365 products and services implementation and administration.
• Solid experience in on-prem and cloud based MS Exchange system implementation and administration
• Bear at least one of the following Microsoft technical certificates Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
• Knowledge and solid experience on enterprise server backup software;
• 5+ years of software development experience;
• Experienced with SQL;
• Excellent decision making, business judgement, influencing and negotiation skills
• Able to initiate change and to implement new processes with the ability to motivate and provide leadership
• Excellent skills in analytics and comprehension of business needs, problem solving and troubleshooting
• High proficiency in spoken and written English for IT technical communication and presentation
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with teamwork orientation
• Experience working with Managed Service Providers (MSP) and global, diverse-culture teams
• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 5 years’ experience in IT Server Ops and datacenter management & support role
• Preferred Qualifications
• IT infrastructure support experience
• Project Management experience
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP);
• Proficient in the ITIL framework and hands-on experience with ITSM processes.
