QA/QC SECTION HEAD

Job Overview

At Eni, we are looking for a QA\QC Section Head within the Zubair Field Operating Division in Basra, Iraq. You will be responsible for ensuring that all the construction &/or facility modification activities are executed in line with the requirements of technical specifications, international standards, and codes applicable where the Department is involved.

As a member of the Field Modification & and Execution Division department in the Zubair Field Operations Division, you will be responsible for:

  • Day to day activities for all QA/QC matters at all stages of the department project execution
  • Following up all the inspections scheduled for each Project/Job in line with contractor-approved Inspection and Testing Plans.
  • Verifying and validating, by signing up the inspection results and respective records produced in line with approved project documentation.
  • Preparing quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Taking responsibility where QA/QC is actively involved in day-to-day construction activities as follows but not limited to Materials receiving inspections; Flowlines right of way preparation; Trenches execution for flowlines installation; Welding of pipeline and piping sections both in field and prefabrication stages; Post welding heat treatment execution (as applicable); Nondestructive test (NDT) inspections; Flowlines heat shrinkable application; Piping coating/painting, touch up and repairs activities; Hydrostatic test activities; Punch lists initiation, follow up and close out; Assisting the Contractors to handover the Project Documentation at the end of Project completion
  • Reviewing, commenting, and endorsing quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Interpreting and implementing quality assurance standards, as well as evaluating their adequacy, devising sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data and reviewing the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems plan, conducting and monitoring testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
  • Collecting and compiling statistical quality data; analyzing data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
  • Documenting internal audits and other quality assurance activities, coordinating and supporting on-site audits conducted by external providers evaluating audit findings and implementing appropriate corrective actions
  • Investigating customer complaints an non-conformance issues
  • Developing, recommending, and monitoring corrective and preventive actions
  • Preparing reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
  • Monitoring risk management activities
  • Responsible for document management systems
  • Assuring ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Qualification process verification and validation for all the special processes required for Project execution;
  • Contracts tendering phase assistance by defining the typical QA/QC requirements, IDS (inspection data sheets) and TDS (documentation data sheets) as applicable; Technical bids evaluation support.
  • Technical support to other FMED groups such as Engineering, HSE or Planning as requested;

This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements

  • Degree or diploma in an engineering/technical discipline, preferably mechanical
  • Extensive experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing experience
  • Significant experience in managerial or similar role
  • Certified Welding Inspector Diploma is preferred
  • Fluent in English (read, write, speak); Italian and/or Arabic are advantageous
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and good practice to international standard applicability to QA/QC
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
  • Good knowledge of international standards for QA/QC codes, processes and methods.
  • Good knowledge of welding tests: Non-destructive test and destructive tests
  • Good knowledge of International Standards related to welding, in particular ISO 9606, ISO 15614-1, and ISO 15609-1 and ASME IX.
  • Familiar with all welding Processes (Arc welding, Resistance welding, solid state welding)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, QA applications and databases.
