Key responsibilities & duties

• Prepare all necessary documents for shipments. Record and manage all accounting related to logistics operations.
• Track all shipments on a daily basis to ensure timely deliveries.
• Follow up with overseas operations to ensure coordination and Coordinate with drivers and clients for seamless logistics operations.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for operational analysis and collaborate with the Logistics Manager to identify areas for improvement.
• Arrange & follow up all shipments with Mersin & Umm Qasr agents to oversee shipments arriving at these ports.
• Coordinate and arrange emergency orders with express freight forwarders such as DHL and Aramex.
• Handle and resolve any claims related to newly received shipments in collaboration with the service team.
• Monitor and follow up on demurrages and detentions to minimize delays.
• Support the logistics manager in various operational details as well as Identify and assess daily operations, advising on possible improvements.
• Oversee the daily operations of VARA machinery logistics. And Ensure service level requirements are met.
• Coordinating the use of warehouses or other storage facilities to ensure efficient use of space.
• Preparing bills of lading and other shipping documents such as customs declarations and insurance policies

Work experience & skills

• Previous experience as an operations & logistics senior or in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in management or an engineering background.
• English, Arabic and Kurdish required.
• Hands-on experience implementing operational processes.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Knowledge of operational principles and policies.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Team leadership qualities.
